Great young adult fantasy

I read this book to preview it for my 14 year old daughter. It was a wonderful story with an open ending which made me think of multiple possible endings and their consequnces. It was very fascinating to read the juxtaposition between the 1920's and today's world. In subtle ways, the story addressed racial prejudice, class differentiation based on wealth, and the social connections of young people of today and of the 1920s. Very good work and highly recommended for both teens and adults.

Short and sweet YA

I rather like The Great Gatsby, and time travel stories are one of my guilty pleasures; the deciding factor I must admit was, however, that this novella was offered as a freebie a few days after I got my Kindle. I downloaded the ebook mostly out of curiosity, feeling rather skeptical about what I might find once I got around to reading it. I was very surprised by how well-written this turned out to be. The author is descriptive enough so the reader can easily imagine the story unfolding in the mind's eye. I strongly recommend this as a pleasant read; it doesn't disappoint.

Very nice time travel romance

As a major fan of Jack Finney, I'm always looking for other time travel books that have a nice romance yet don't get too Harlequin. This one did that quite nicely.
One thing I couldn't relate to was why Ellen would want to share her great love. Guess I'm selfish that way, wanting my true love all to myself. But lucky for Diamond that Ellen was so generous, and lucky for the readers.
